Each petite showcases exquisite embroidery, which is meticulously stitched onto a luxury box, shopping bag, or scarf. The artwork is then framed and embellished with embroidered butterflies, lace flowers, appliqués, and other decorative elements. Every piece is one-of-a-kind and is presented in a sleek acrylic frame that can be displayed on a flat surface or hung on a wall with the included hardware.
About the Art
Stephen Wilson uses sustainable materials to create unique and everlasting designs. Each art piece begins with an up-cycled luxury bag, box, silk scarf, or handbag. Wilson then digitizes a custom embroidery design by hand, layering each stitch individually. Once the design, colors, and elements are decided, the piece moves on to assembly.
The boxes and bags are deconstructed, becoming the canvas for his creations. The embroidery then goes directly through his chosen medium, and the visible texture begins to bring the piece to life. Appliqués, patches, and butterflies are all stitched out individually and placed onto each piece, creating a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art. Every element of every piece is designed, stitched, and created in North Carolina.
